3. Cambodia

Historians claim that the monarchy in the territory we now know as Cambodia arose in 802 when Jayavarman 2nd became king. He is considered the founder of the Khemer empire, of which Cambodia is still heir to this day.
Norodom Sihamoní, who saw his father abdicate the throne in his favor in 2004, is the current constitutional and life-long king of Cambodia. The country also has a prime minister.
A royal council chooses the monarchs among men over 30 years of age, descendants of the Norodom dynasty.
