Swallow spoon by mistake

A Chinese woman identified only as Lili spent four days with a spoon lodged in the intestine. She swallowed the 13-centimeter metal object as she tried to pull a fishbone out of her throat.
The object was lodged in the Chinese duodenum, which is the initial part of the small intestine. Despite this, Lili reported that she felt no discomfort or pain.
To remove the spoon, the medical staff performed an endoscopy, which lasted about 10 minutes. "As the spoon was in a horizontal position, we carefully adjusted it before pulling it vertically," said Dr. Sun Tingji.
The doctor reported that the spoon caused swelling and erosion on the spot. However, after receiving treatment, Lili was discharged and left the hospital.
